Classes & Support Groups
Knowledge is Powerful! The more you continue to learn, the easier day-to-day life is with diabetes, and the HEALTHIER you are.
Our Diabetes Center cares for people of all ages, serving a wide variety of needs throughout our classes. Specialists are here to answer questions such as:
- What can I eat?
- What should my blood sugar be?
- What tests do I need every year to prevent blindness & kidney failure?
- What is a trans fat?
- What should I order when eating out?
- How can I stay motivated?
Support Groups
The Diabetes Center offers classes for the newly diagnosed, as well as a refresher course for those who are in need of a review in self-management tips. The free support groups meet monthly on the first Thursday of every month from 6:00 - 7:00 pm. The Diabetes Center also offers a Spanish support group which meets the second Thursday of each month, also from 6:00 - 7:00 pm.
Ongoing Classes
The first diabetes classes are held on the 2nd Tuesday/Wednesday of each month. The third class meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, and the fourth class is held on the 3rd Wednesday each month. There are two class times: 1:30 – 3:30 p.m., and 5-7 p.m. for your convenience.
