Walla Walla General Hospital is designated as a Level III Trauma Center in Washington and Oregon.

With our state-of-the-art technology, on-site helipad and highly skilled, caring staff, we are here for you. Our staff is trained to provide a full range of medical care for patients of all ages with all types of medical problems, from minor illnesses and injuries to life-threatening emergencies. Every member of our nursing team has Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLA) and Advanced Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certification.

Physician specialists in family medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics, surgery, orthopedics, cardiology, pulmonary medicine, and obstetrics and gynecology provide on-call coverage 24 hours a day as needed.

Speed and Quality
The core measures, developed by the Hospital Quality Alliance and reported to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), relate to the provision of recommended treatment in four clinical areas: heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, and surgical care.

Walla Walla General Hospital has performed above the national average in Core Measures for the last two years. In fact, since 2006 we've been in the top 10 percent of hospitals nationwide for treatment of heat attack patients.

The national benchmark for receiving “clot-buster” medicine after reaching the ER--a critical success factor for certain cardiac patients--is 30 minutes. Our average is consistently and considerably less.

Our 24/7 Chest Pain Center, located in the Emergency Center, is here for the diagnosis and treatment of chest pain. With beds for patients who require short-term monitoring to rule out heart attack before releasing them, and state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit, equipped with cardiac monitoring systems, for inpatients, we're the top location for your heart-related emergencies. WWGH also offers cardiac rehabilitation, an education and exercise program that speeds recovery from heart attack or cardiac surgery.
