New Physicians Join Medical Group

Walla Walla General Hospital warmly welcomes three new physicians to the campus. Dr. Gily Ionescu and Dr. Carl Bauer are new to our community while Dr. Tom Westhusing has practiced medicine in the Walla Walla Valley for several years.

All three have joined Adventist Health/Medical Group and are now practicing at the main clinic building at 1111 S. Second Avenue.

Gily Ionescu, MD, is an internal medicine physician with an additional degree in human nutrition from Andrews University in Michigan. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Ionescu’s passion is public health education and establishing long term, caring relationships with his patients.

Tom Westhusing, DO, is an alumnus of Rice University, the University of Illinois and Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Tulsa, Okla. He is also board certified by the American Board of Family Practice. He enjoys playing golf and chess, snow skiing and fly fishing.

Carl Bauer, MD, is an internal medicine physician with a specialty in gastroenterology and an MS degree in nutrition. He has served as a missionary in Japan, taught at Loma Linda University and operated a private practice in gastroenterology and nutrition in California. In Walla Walla he will see patients for GI consultation and care, colonoscopy and endoscopy. He enjoys hiking, photography and gardening.
