Walla Walla General Hospital Announces Grand Opening Celebration for Medical Pavilion

Walla Walla General Hospital announces the grand opening of the Medical Pavilion—a new building on the hospital’s campus emphasizing health care for women of all ages. The community is invited to tour the building and enjoy refreshments, live music and prize drawings on Thursday, April 24, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

The Medical Pavilion houses women's services, including digital mammography, ultrasound, incontinence therapy, massage therapy, breast health, and more. Two physicians specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Regina Karmy and Dr. Lee Hughes, will occupy the main medical office suite. Additional physician space is available for future needs.

Every aspect of the building was carefully crafted to create a healing environment, which is reflected in the unusual design of the building and its soothing, spa-like atmosphere.

"The Medical Pavilion brings to life our commitment to creating calming, healing spaces for our patients," says Monty Knittel, hospital president.

Construction on the 11,000 square-foot building began June 2007. The Medical Pavilion is being developed by Southpoint Investments, LLC, who own the building and lease it to the hospital. Dennis Gisi, one of the partners in Southpoint Investments, LLC, says the Medical Pavilion will be a "signature building" for Walla Walla.

"The building is defined by water features, an open interior and an elaborate garden landscape," Gisi says. "Its contemporary design provides a completely new look for the hospital campus and contributes to the peaceful, healing atmosphere we wanted."

To schedule an appointment with an OB/GYN call 527-8080. For mammography, ultrasound and therapy appointments call 527-8273.
